This knowledge helps RPs provide quality instruction to others learning about parliamentary procedure; enables them to respond quickly and confidently to questions and situations that arise during the conduct of business in the organizations they serve or in which they participate; and allows them to quickly find details or supporting documentation of any parliamentary topic.
Professional Registered Parliamentarian
A Professional Registered Parliamentarian (PRP)® building on the expertise demonstrated
at the Registered Parliamentarian level, must pass an examination on advanced knowledge
of parliamentary law and procedure according to Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised,
and must successfully complete a practical course demonstrating an ability to provide
professional services such as presiding, performing the role of parliamentarian for
a presiding officer, and issuing professional opinions.
Professional Registered Parliamentarian (PRP)® status indicates to others that a member has not only the knowledge, but also the practical skills to successfully deliver parliamentary services. As such, a PRP is qualified to assist organizations or individuals in the application of parliamentary procedure for the orderly conduct of business.
