While small organizations rely on their own members for parliamentary expertise needed to ensure smooth-running meetings, many larger organizations, those with contentious meetings or handling sensitive or controversial information, or those whose officers are uncomfortable conducting a meeting without assistance may take advantage of the services of a professional parliamentarian.

Typical parliamentary services
· Assist the Chair with before and during the meeting with wording, interpretation and meeting procedure
· Act as professional presiding officer for particularly controversial meetings
